The ongoing conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has inflicted profound suffering upon many, including our brothers and sisters in Christ. Reports of violence and the displacement of families from their homes are deeply distressing.
As the East Central Africa Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, we earnestly call upon all our members to dedicate time in prayer for the DRC.
The Word of the Lord assures us:
“Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.”
— Psalm 50:15 (NKJV)
In this time of distress, let us heed God’s invitation to call upon Him, trusting in His promise to deliver and honor those who seek Him.
Our Church, through its humanitarian agency, is actively working to assist those affected by the conflict. We place our trust in God, believing that He will bring an end to the fighting and restore peace to the land.
This conflict has arisen amidst three evangelistic campaigns planned in the major towns of Kinshasa, Goma, and Lubumbashi. We trust that the Lord will restore normalcy, allowing these plans to proceed at the earliest opportunity.
As you gather in your family altars, churches, and various sessions, please remember the DRC in your prayers. May our collective intercession bring comfort to those in need and hasten the restoration of peace.
Let us unite in faith, trusting in God’s sovereignty and His unfailing love for His people.
