The East Central Africa Division (ECD), through the Family Life Department, has launched an intentional and impactful international plan focused on nurturing the boy child. For far too long, society has overlooked the critical role of the boy child in shaping the future. It is time for us to be intentional in mentoring and guiding the boy child in the ways of the Lord.
Boys are not only the future priests of the home but also the future husbands, fathers, and leaders in our communities. Their upbringing directly influences the future of the Church and society. Thus, we cannot afford to neglect their spiritual, emotional, and moral development.
A significant milestone was reached between February 11-15, 2025, when a meeting was held in Arusha. This meeting brought together leaders from the Union, Conferences, and various church institutions. These dedicated leaders participated in an empowering training event aimed at equipping them to implement intentional programs that nurture the boy child. Through expert-led workshops and hands-on training, delegates gained essential skills to carry out this important work in their local contexts.
The training sessions were designed to drill home the importance of mentoring boys with a purposeful focus on their holistic growth—spiritually, emotionally, and socially. Now, these trained leaders are prepared to go out and spread the knowledge, creating opportunities for boys to be nurtured in the ways of the Lord.
It is now time for local churches in the East Central Africa Division to take action and initiate programs that directly address this need. The nurturing of the boy child is not just a responsibility—it is an opportunity to help build a better future for families, communities, and the Church. Let us work together to raise up strong, godly men who will be the future leaders and fathers of tomorrow. We encourage every church to actively engage and embrace this vision. The time to act is now!
