Our Mission is to serve the Division-wide community, by carrying the healing and teaching ministry of Jesus Christ, by compassionately promoting healthful living, by caring for the sick and by sharing the good news of the loving God. 

ECD Health Ministries Department (HMD) seeks to accomplish its mission by working with the Union, Conferences, fields, and attached territory throughout the ECD region and the GC to:

1. Develop a strong worldwide system of healthcare institutions to alleviate the sickness and suffering of humankind. Training competent medical missionary doctors for these healthcare institutions & unions & local churches by the Adventist School of Medicine of East-Central Africa (ASOME).

2. Promote physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual wellness of the whole person.

3. Advocate a healthful lifestyle in line with the Biblical principles, the Spirit of Prophesy & evidence-based.

4.  Establish HIV & AIDS education, prevention, care and support programs.

5.  Prevent the harmful effects caused to our bodies by alcohol, tobacco, and other substance use or debasing drugs.

6.  Facilitate spiritual counseling & guidelines to the rehabilitation centers in ECD territory.

7.  Provide leadership & training for the blended ministries and comprehensive health ministry initiatives.
