The Department of Education seeks to provide quality Adventist education and training for development and nurture to all youth and employees of the Church as well as others who desire to study in a Christian atmosphere through Adventist institutions. The education and training provided covers all areas of development, including the spiritual, the mental, the physical and the social dimensions of life. The department endeavors to train those willing to become qualified employees of the Adventist church for the carrying out of the Gospel commission.

The ECD Department of Education oversees the world’s largest network of Adventist schools. The Division has about 2,200 Adventist schools including 10 full-fledged universities. These schools have an enrolment of about 700,000 students. There are about 100,000 baptisms annually as a result of evangelistic and discipleship activities
